BEST PLOT/STORY This is how the typical OCT comic goes: One character's alone or with a friend, pondering who his/her next opponent should be, the opponent shows up, and usually with minimal interaction, they fly at each other's throats until the more determined one - always the author's - overpowers the other despite the odds. The judges have read these stories over and over - we want something new, something compelling - a reason to care about the characters involved other than

It's difficult to manage a well-drawn fight following your own preferences.

FlameSphereBesu: This is better than the last submission art wise. To me, I found it kind of strange. Eleni goes into this alter demon mode and remembers her past...All cause Elle slammed Artemus? I found it pretty random than serious. It would've been better if there was more conflict between the two for that to happen. Page 6, panel three, I believe you could've at least drawn more of Eleni's headshot too, instead of drawing her face only. It's also best to draw backgrounds too. Blank void spaces is something a lot of the contestants need to fix.
Niichts: I fond your comic to be more entertaining and cute. Your comic starts to have too much positive space outside the panels, I'd say fill those spaces in next time. It's good to see that you drew your backgrounds on most of the panels. Art wise, I think you could've put better line art like you did with your last battle.

YC, I found your comic to have too much speed lines which were too thick on page 2 and 3, as if you were filling in space instead of drawing the scenery too. It takes away too much attention from the actual fight, and I didn't understand what was going on at first. So please avoid using too much of it in the future and draw the background too. Saburu isn't a judge, by the way. XD

(besuchan vs Niichts)
I found this to be a tight match. Both were well done in their own way (besu for story, Niichts for art). I don't know the rules for entry but this didn't feel like a fun art contest, more like a design project (negitive, positive space...). It helps yes. So does colour.
"Niichts wins, cause his entry was obviously more entertaining.." a bit ignorant...must have been the word "obviously".."and didn't have huge panels with blank backgrounds" alright I agree with that, true his did have better use of space then besus.
"Please don't make my eyes bleed" You should see yellow text against white....but yes the font could have been black. But yet I could still read it. At least it wasn't in a fancy font.

Artemus is her guardian spirit. He was her mentor in life. And Elle carries around a chello that talks, what's your point? But yes, for thoes who don't know the characters I guess a backstory would have been nice. Then again Artemus has been in numerous battle contests. He's just part of Eleni. "It would've been better if there was more conflict between the two for that to happen. " probably...at least Besu's HAD conflict....Elle seemed to have a conflict...with herself...then with a plant. I found that part boring. She yelled at Eleni....so I guess that's fighting...
Overall I think this entry should have ended in a draw.
Besu had a good story and likiable characters.
Niichts had nice art and easy to read formatting. I like the fact that it was one strip vs sperate pages like most entries.
I don't quite get how Niichts was more entertaining. The emotions and cartoony look to it maybe? Story was dull and weird with hardly any conflict with Eleni (other then that random plant bite). It just felt...empty.
Besu can work on the art a bit more. She really only has to fill up the background and maybe add a bit of shading to it yes. But I liked her story better.
The only judge who is worth listening too is FlameSphere. They gave good points to both entries without overdoing it too much. Seems to me they are the only judge who actually did any work so good job to you
It seems that battle contests are random anyway.
And this contest just seemed to zap the fun out of art.
